Exercise Physiology

What is it?

Exercise therapy / rehabilitation is designed to prevent or manage chronic disease, injury and disability.

Clinical Exercise Physiologists (EPs) develop physical activity programmes that are specific to health conditions and which can be done at home or in the community.

Conclusive evidence shows that structured physical activity is an integral therapy in the management of many conditions including diabetes and pre-diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, arthritis, osteoporosis, obesity, depression, cancer and musculoskeletal injuries.

Interventions will rarely only involve physical activity and as a consequence the EP does not practice in isolation but will collaborate with other recognised health practitioners.

Our EPs

Our EPs are accredited with The Australian Association for Exercise and Sports Science. They are university-trained experts from within the field of exercise science who have specialised in health, fitness and exercise rehabilitation.

Your appointment

If you are seeing the Exercise Physiologist you will need to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in.  Consultations last about 30 minutes.
